Readies students for the practicum, EDU6966. Focuses on human development, curriculum development, and the social/political foundations of urban education. An interlocking set of readings and linked discussions is geared to enabling students to begin developing a viable philosophy of education that moves their thinking beyond personal experience. Offers students an opportunity to link theory and practice in ways that take into account the messy nature of human difference and political/educational practices.
